Description: 

Within our Corporate Tax team located in Denver, Leprino is seeking a Senior Income Tax Analyst to support federal, state, and local income tax compliance, tax accounting, planning, and government audits. This role will prepare and analyze complex tax filings, maintain accurate tax records, research evolving tax requirements, and collaborate across the organization to support timely and accurate tax reporting.

 

At Leprino, starting compensation for this role typically ranges between $88,000 and $102,000. This position has an annual target bonus of 10%.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Prepare federal, state, and local income tax estimates, extensions, and returns, helping ensure accurate filings and timely payments.
  • Develop state apportionment schedules and supporting calculations, including fixed asset transactions and bonus depreciation activity.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual tax reports and coordinate required filings and payments across applicable jurisdictions.
  • Complete monthly general ledger tax account reconciliations and support the preparation of the annual income tax provision.
  • Prepare the annual franchise tax budget and supporting tax calculations.
  • Research federal, state, and local tax legislation, regulations, and judicial developments to assess their potential impact on Leprino.
  • Support tax planning initiatives by researching tax positions, evaluating available alternatives, and documenting findings for department leadership.
  • Assist with federal, state, and local government tax audits by preparing documentation, researching disputed positions, and coordinating responses to taxing authorities.
  • Support formal protests, appeals, and tax litigation matters when disputes with governmental tax authorities require additional review.
  • Interpret tax law and apply applicable requirements to tax returns, accounting activities, and other tax matters.
  • Coordinate multiple tax projects and filing deadlines while maintaining accurate supporting documentation and financial records.
  • Build collaborative relationships with finance, accounting, plant teams, and other internal partners to gather information and resolve tax matters.

 

You Have At Least (Required Qualifications):

  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Five years of professional experience in taxation.
  • Experience preparing federal and/or state income tax returns and interpreting applicable tax law.
  • Experience with income tax software, spreadsheet-based analysis, and tax provision calculations.
  • Experience with book tax accounting, including general ledger tax reconciliations and income tax provisions.

 

We Hope You Also Have (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Experience in corporate tax or with a large public accounting firm supporting income tax compliance, accounting, audits, or planning.
  • A CPA license or progress toward CPA licensure.
  • Experience preparing multistate income tax returns, apportionment schedules, and franchise tax calculations.
  • Experience researching complex tax matters and corresponding with federal, state, or local taxing authorities.
