POSITION TITLE: Solutions Architect, Systems & Storage
POSITION DUTIES: Manage projects that involve major systems replacement, service expansion, analysis, design, vendor interaction, implementation, training, and follow up using knowledge of Systems & storage principles and equipment; VMware platforms; cloud technologies related to systems and storage; business continuity functions within hyperscalers; Active Directory & Windows technologies; SuSE Linux technologies; enterprise storage technologies to include Pure Storage and their associated devices and facilities; enterprise backup technologies to include Rubrik backup appliances and their associated devices and facilities; Internet Information Server, Web, FTP, SMTP, security and monitoring products. Work closely with the Infrastructure Architect to establish and document standards related to the solutions as well as architecture documents to represent topology and connectivity. Lead initiatives to migrate existing systems and infrastructure to cloud-based solutions, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption to operations. Evaluate, select, and manage cloud service providers and vendors. Develop and implement strategies for cloud adoption, including hybrid and multi-cloud environments. Ensure cloud architecture aligns with business goals and industry best practices, focusing on security, compliance, and cost management. Recommend and implement new systems & storage capability. Serve as SME for storage and systems related topics. Work with the IT Security team to review and manage updates on all security systems and devices in accordance with industry standards. Ensure lifecycle management of all Systems, Storage and Backup systems, as well as manage & track those efforts. Craft and update all DR & BC Policies, Processes and Procedures and ensure technical aspects of the DR and BC program are functioning. Perform documentation of systems design (and maintenance) including policies, processes and procedures. Ensure timely and effective communication with users regarding system updates, changes, and issue resolutions. Execute competitive bidding processes with a variety of vendors. Provide recommendations and guidelines for annual budgetary process and/or show significant savings to the business. Monitor and review maintenance contract arrangements with vendors. Provide assistance that may be required to the Manager of Enterprise Systems and Storage including supervising certain activities of the Systems & Storage Contractors.
RATE OF PAY: $145,018.00 per year.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor of Science in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or closely related field + at least five (5) years of experience in the position offered or as a Network Architect. Experience must include five (5) years’ working knowledge: Systems & storage principles & equipment; VMware platforms; Amazon Web Services related to systems & storage; business continuity functions w/in hyperscalers; Active Directory & Win tech; SuSE Linux tech; enterprise storage tech to include Pure Storage & associated devices & facilities; enterprise backup tech to include Rubrik backup appliances & associated devices & facilities; Internet Information Server, Web, FTP, SMTP, security & monitoring products. MS, VMware, & Nutanix (NCP-MCI), AWS Solution Architect Certifications required. Domestic travel to unanticipated locations up to 20% of schedule. May work remotely up to 1 day/week.
