Maintenance Technician - Wastewater Plant

Within our 500-person manufacturing facility in Greeley, Leprino is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the operation and maintenance of the industrial wastewater treatment systems that support our Greeley manufacturing facility. This role combines hands-on maintenance work with process support to ensure wastewater equipment operates safely, reliably, and in compliance with regulatory requirements. Our wastewater treatment plant operates just outside the main production facility and plays a critical role in maintaining environmental compliance and operational continuity.

At Leprino, starting compensation for this role typically ranges between $34.36 and $40.38 depending on experience.

What You’ll Do:

• Maintain and troubleshoot wastewater treatment equipment including pumps, gearboxes, mixers, valves, fans, and associated process systems.
• Perform mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation troubleshooting to diagnose and repair equipment failures.
• Execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to ensure system reliability and compliance with environmental permits.
• Operate wastewater treatment processes to achieve required treatment standards with minimal supervision.
• Conduct inspections and maintenance activities including lubrication, filter changes, oil changes, and equipment adjustments.
• Collect wastewater samples and perform basic laboratory testing to monitor treatment effectiveness.
• Maintain laboratory records and track testing supplies.
• Divert plant spills when necessary and document excessive water usage coming from the facility.
• Support creation and improvement of preventive maintenance procedures and maintenance documentation.
• Maintain 5S standards in the wastewater facility, maintenance areas, and tool storage.
• Work in accordance with safety procedures, SOPs, GMPs, and regulatory requirements.

You Have At Least (Required Qualifications):

• 3 years of experience in an industrial maintenance technician role involving mechanical troubleshooting and repair.
• Hands-on experience maintaining pumps, mixers, gearboxes, valves, fans, pneumatics, and similar process equipment.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical systems and controls.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and equipment documentation.
• Experience using computer-based maintenance systems such as SAP, Maximo, or similar systems.
• Basic computer skills including email, internet use, and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English to follow procedures, document work, and troubleshoot equipment.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Strong problem-solving ability and the ability to work independently when supervision is not immediately available.

We Hope You Also Have (Preferred Qualifications):

• Experience working in industrial wastewater treatment operations or industrial production environments.
• Experience with stainless steel welding or fabrication.
• Familiarity with wastewater treatment equipment such as pumps, valves, and metering systems.
• Knowledge of industrial and regulatory standards including OSHA, PSM, or USDA requirements.
• Experience rebuilding gearboxes and process equipment.
• PLC troubleshooting experience.
• Experience working with AC frequency drives and industrial instrumentation.
