Job Summary:
The Wastewater Treatment Technician is responsible for installing, disassembling, repairing, and maintaining process equipment. The Wastewater Maintenance Technician is also responsible for the safe repair and troubleshooting of malfunctioning mechanical, electrical or instrumentation systems, the calibration of instruments, maintaining 5S standards in work areas and toolboxes, and performing mechanical, preventive and predictive maintenance. This position is also responsible for creation and implementation of preventive maintenance procedures, while maintaining 5S standards and participating in and implementing continuous improvement.
In addition to completing planned and unplanned maintenance activities, the Wastewater Maintenance Technician is responsible for the safe operation of the associated equipment, the basic process operation of wastewater, and ensuring the quality of treated effluent is in accordance CDPHE permit utilizing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and safe work practices.
The Greeley Team is seeking a Wastewater Maintenance Technician to help us achieve our goals.
At Leprino Foods, starting compensation for this role is between $34.36-40.38 per hour depending on experience.
What we ask of you:
- Operate treatment processes to achieve the required degree of wastewater treatment with minimal supervision.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections on equipment, including lubrication, oil changes, filter changes, etc.
- Perform sampling and laboratory testing of wastewater at various stages of the treatment process. Maintain laboratory data and supplies inventory.
- Divert spills and log excessive water usage coming from the plant.
- Implement and maintain 5S standards including maintaining facility cleanliness.
- Work in accordance with safe work practices at all times
Knowledge & Skills:
- Must be able to read, write and speak the English language in order to understand/adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), to communicate effectively with others, to complete required documentation both in written and electronic form, and to troubleshoot systems utilizing the English language.
- Technicians must have the ability to: perform essential job functions
- Wear required personal protective equipment
- Comply with all applicable safety practices
- Maintain a clean work area
- Complete written reports
- Perform basic and intermediate mathematical calculations
- Enter data into and pull data from computer systems. Technicians must possess considerable problem-solving ability in dealing with equipment or troubleshooting when supervision is not readily available for consultation
You Must Have (Minimum Qualifications):
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must be able to read, write and speak the English language in order to understand/adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), to communicate effectively with others, to complete required documentation both in written and electronic form, and to troubleshoot systems utilizing the English language.
- At least 3 years of demonstrated experience in a similar maintenance technician role including mechanical troubleshooting and repair of pumps, fans, gearboxes, mixers, valves, pneumatics and associated process equipment, experience with electrical system and controls troubleshooting and repair, schematic reading, familiarity with computer-based maintenance management systems (e.g SAP, Maximo), and proficiency with email, internet, and MSOffice
We Hope You Also Have (Preferred Qualifications):
- 2 years production or wastewater operations experience, experience with stainless steel welding and fabrication
- Basic knowledge of Wastewater equipment and operations (eg, pumps, valves, metering equipment)
- Dairy/food manufacturing experience
- Knowledge of government and industrial regulations (e.g. PSM, OSHA, and USDA)
- Computer proficiency in email, internet, welding experience
- Mechanical repairs (including rebuilding of gearboxes and process equipment) experience; PLC trouble shooting experience; and experience with AC frequency drives and instrumentation
Physical/Mental Requirements and Work Environment:
The Wastewater Maintenance Technician position is physically demanding and requires being on the feet the entire shift, standing and walking, kneeling for extended periods of time, working in wet/dry/cold/hot/indoor/outdoor environments, working in tight spaces, climbing steps and ladders, working at extreme heights, making pipe connections, using hand tools, physically transporting parts and tools, and lifting equipment parts which can weigh up to 70 Lbs. Wastewater Maintenance Technicians must be able to work overtime and holidays when required and provide relief shift coverage for day and night shifts.
