Whey MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT
General Summary:
Group Leader is responsible for overseeing and directing the crew performing troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on plant equipment. Support Maintenance Supervisor with a Weekly Plan execution.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Responsible for providing direction to the crew and equipment in accordance with Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure weekly plan execution to facilitate minimum requirement of 80% planned work completion.
- Responsible to perform daily pass downs with clarity and accuracy – (Assist Maintenance Supervisor)
- Ensure all Red Tags, Hot Work permits, and documentations filled in accordance with Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Performs daily area walk through of department to pre-plan work with production team. (Pre-plan)
- Oversee availability of maintenance support throughout the day for production department needs.
- Assist Maintenance Supervisor with managing the work backlog.
- Attend production meetings and follow ups.
- Responsible for tracking of repairable(s) and the disposition process.
- At all times, operate in a manner consistent with safe operating procedures.
- Responsible for fabrication or modification of equipment to Leprino specs and standards.
- Responsible for the installation of new or used equipment.
- Responsible for repairs of building and all plant equipment.
- Responsible to promptly respond to any equipment break downs or downtime when applicable.
- Responsible to assist in shift coverage when applicable.
- Responsible for welding repairs to plant equipment.
- Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment.
- Responsible to fulfill MEP requirements.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.
- Responsible for communicating major changes on issues and jobs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must demonstrate knowledge of previous leadership experience.
- Welding skills including: arc, tig, mig, and oxy/ace.
- Ability to weld blk, ss, alum, and Brazing
- Ability to design, layout and fabricate.
- Ability to read blueprints and P&ID drawing.
- Ability to work well with outside contractors.
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of all dairy equipment.
- Ability to operate a forklift.
- Knowledge of proper safe use of hand tools.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Demonstrated leadership ability. Lead by Example.
- Demonstrated strong commitment to safety. Knowledge of GMPs.
- Must be able to fulfill physical functional requirements of position per ADA
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Computer literacy.
- Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions.
