LUB L2 Block Pack Relief Operator

For our future state-of-the art 600+ person Lubbock, TX cheese and whey manufacturing facility, Leprino is seeking a L2 Packaging Relief Team Member II to join our team!

Leprino Foods broke ground on the $1 Billion facility in the summer of 2022. The plant became operational in 2024 with Phase 1 and will become fully operational by 2026 with Phase 2.

Job Summary

The Processing Relief Operator is responsible for vacancy relief coverage of all operator positions in Processing.

Job Duties

• Know and perform all required job functions for skilled operator positions as required by Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). 

• Support operations throughout the department as designated by supervisor 

• Complete LA makeup for the production day, and ensure accurate application of LA and Cellulose to product 

• CIP and production setup of the Z-Conveyor 

• Assist with team lead with changeovers 

• Collect, weigh, and record all shift scrap and redice 

• Communicate effectively with co-workers, maintenance, team leads, and supervisors 

• Monitor operations in the label room with the taper, full box metal detector, and labeling equipment 

• Follow sanitation procedures of all equipment at shutdown 

• Complete assigned GMP and housekeeping duties and maintain 5S standards as required 

• Perform work in a safe manner by following safety procedures and policies, critical safety rules, and expected standard conduct 

• Ensure product meets food safety, regulatory, and quality requirements by following the Food Safety Plan, Quality Plan, and company policies 

• Complete paperwork accurately.  Know and understand the normal operational readings for all data recorded and action to be taken if outside normal operations 

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

• Must be 18 years of age 

• Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend basic English language 

• Ability to evaluate and identify mechanical conditions and make adjustments or corrective action as necessary 

• Ability to access elevated work areas such as climbing ladders/stairs 

• Basic math skills to be able to perform mathematical functions 

• Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously 

• Ability to understand and apply standard operating procedures 

• Ability to maintain clean work area according to good manufacturing processes 

• Good communication skills to communicate with co-workers and oncoming/outgoing shifts 

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• One year of work experience in a manufacturing environment; experience in machine operation and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment are preferred.
