For our state-of-the art 600+ person Lubbock, TX cheese and whey manufacturing facility, Leprino is seeking a Maintenance Buying Clerk.
Summary Description:
This position performs various administrative functions involved with the purchasing of indirect materials, parts, services, chemicals, etc. The primary function is that of supporting the efforts of the Parts Room and Technical Teams to have all required goods and services for the successful operation of the Lubbock facility.
All other duties as assigned.
Job Duties (Accountability Categories and Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities):
NOTE: The job may include other “non-essential” responsibilities and duties that are not listed on this form.
- Prepare, issue and follow up on various requests for quotes and prepare requisitions as needed. As well as prepare various work scopes for service work, contract and general parts identification.
- Maintain purchase agreement files and follow up on quote returns as well as purchase agreement returns, confirmations and PO status.
- Assist the Parts Room and Purchasing Supervisor by reviewing the various documents such as the AP List, no confirmation report, overdue purchase order list, etc. and expediting as required.
- Interact on a regular basis, both in person and on the phone, with various vendor contacts and purchasing teams in other LFC plants. Represent in all daily activities the Core Values of Leprino Foods and the attitude required to support a positive cultural change in the plant.
- Continuously review the workflow in the department and suggest ways to improve (expedite) the process flow, parts turn-around, etc.
- Perform all duties in a safe manner, while complying with all applicable safety policies.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
- Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office products
- Familiarity or ability to learn SAP and Maximo, or similar integrated manufacturing systems
- Able to read, write and perform intermediate mathematical calculations
- Able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization on site and off site
- Demonstrated ability to complete work assignments with high degree of accuracy
- Action-oriented with assertive follow up abilities
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience with SAP and Maximo
- Knowledge and understanding from past Purchasing roles and responsibilities
- Purchasing and inventory management experience
- Demonstrated attention to detail with an emphasis on total accuracy

- Signed Internal Non-Exempt Job Request Form
- At least 12 months in position (if applying for a lateral position)
- No current performance concerns
- Fewer than 1 full attendance point
- Supervisor/manager confirmation of career readiness
Physical/Mental Requirements and Work Environment:
Work Environment Description:
- The Maintenance Buying Clerk must be able to move and lift objects up to 25 pounds.
- Works in an office setting and is generally sedentary, but may involve movement (e.g., walking, standing, or otherwise being mobile throughout the office) for brief periods of time.
- May occasionally work in production environment with fast moving equipment and variety of temperatures from hot to cold.

This position requires the incumbent to work on site at the facility to be able to perform the associated job responsibilities.
