LUB Real Time Operator

For our state-of-the art 600+ person Lubbock, TX cheese and whey manufacturing facility, Leprino is seeking a Real Time Operator on Processing Line 1.

Leprino Foods broke ground on the $1 billion facility in the summer of 2022. The plant will become operational in 2025 with Phase 1 and will become fully operational by 2026!

 

This position pays $23 per hour. There is an additional $1 differential for hours worked between 6pm and 6am. Weekly pay. 

Summary Description:

Individual is responsible for many of the quality DED checks and inventory control for the processing department through MES and SAP.  Operator is responsible for communication to own department and other various departments. Operator is also responsible for accurate accounting of materials used and managing blend percentages as outlined in internal documents and Standard Operating Procedures.  Other duties as assigned.

Job Duties (Accountability Categories and Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities):

  • High-speed scale readings, resets, no totals, and responsible for weight accuracy (weights and measures).
  • Manage bulk-off and productions of semi-finished goods through MES and SAP.
  • Manage consumptions of cheese blends with percentages in spec.
  • Manage complex run orders and change overs through the High-Speed Scale.
  • Support cut quality by measuring dice / shred dimensions.
  • Manage inventory levels based on first in first out (FIFO)
  • Bin-log records.
  • Add back records.
  • Sorting records.
  • MES, DED quality functions.
  • Dicer floor MD charts and records.  
  • Weights and Measures.
  • At all times, operate in a manner consistent with safe operating procedures.
  • Responsible for safe performance of duties in accordance with Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Adhere to all Company and regulatory GMPs.
  • Communicate between, co-workers, departments and supervision as required.
  • Must successfully complete JTPR and consistently perform work according to SOP.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Utilize SAP and other records to research stranded inventory.
  • Work with Clerk, Warehouse, Production, and Admin departments to find and resolve stranded inventory. 

Minimum Qualifications & Experience: 

  • Must be 18 years of age or older. 
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing. 
  • Must be able to support 24-7/365 business. 
  • Demonstrated ability to complete work assignments with high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to stay focused, calm, efficient, and effective in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

  • SAP, Microsoft programs and other Leprino systems, or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Dairy/Cheese manufacturing experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities/Competencies: 

  • In-depth working knowledge of general excel, SAP, and inventory.
  • Strong analytical detail orientation and written communication skills are needed.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Strong planning/time management skills and balancing of resources.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.

Working Relationships: 

  • This position reports to the Processing Supervisor.
  • This position also interacts regularly with warehouse, cheese make leads, processing leadership.
