Leprino Foods Company, a global leader in the dairy food and ingredient industry, is seeking a Whey Production Clerk to join our team located in Roswell, NM. Leprino Foods is the world's largest supplier of mozzarella cheese and one of the largest suppliers of premium dairy nutrition ingredients. The Human Resources Clerk provides administrative and project support to the Roswell plant, under the direction of the Human Resources Manager & Human Resources Generalist. In addition to assisting with general administrative duties, the HR Clerk provides advice, assistance, and follow-up on company policies, procedures, health benefits, and coordinates the resolution of specific policy-related and procedural issues and inquiries.

Starting compensation for this role typically ranges between $22.10-$27.63.

We Ask of You:

  • Assists HR Generalist with planning to ensure proper non-exempt staffing levels within the production and support departments.
  • Screens applications and conduct pre-employment phone screens. Schedules on-site panel interviews with candidates and supervisors.
  • Creates employment advertisements and maintains an internal and external job posting system.
  • Coordinates completion of all recruitment/new hire processes such as scheduling physicals, background checks, and reference checks.
  • Assists with coordination and facilitation of orientation process for new employees. Maintains on-line application system, including completion of quarterly standard deviation reporting and sending e-mail communications to candidates.
  • Confidentially coordinates electronic filing system for HR-specific records and employee files such as personnel, safety, training, legal, and medical files. Assists with completion, tracking, and reporting of employee attendance policy, & educating employees on attendance policy.
  • Administers performance management process for non-exempt employees. Logs non-exempt training records.
  • Maintains existing input into EC system and is site subject matter expert on processes related to SAP & UKG time clock system.
  • Liaison and trainer for employees in regard to questions related to EC and UKG. Prepares, analyzes, and distributes reports that are necessary to carry out the functions of the department.
  • Establish and maintain an accurate and employee-friendly environment.
  • Assists with coordinating all plant employee relation events such as Company Picnic, and Christmas Party.
  • Maintains bulletin boards and lunchroom communications.
  • Champions the plant Wellness Program including leading an interactive and progressive team, facilitating communication, preparing the annual proposal including estimated expenses, and maintaining the budget.
  • Provides day-to-day benefits administration services. Assist employees with claim issue resolution.
  • Coordinates and helps with facilitation of benefits orientations and other benefits training.
  • Conducts the annual benefits open enrollment process.
  • Facilitates, monitors, and maintains plant Leave of Absence and FMLA program, including distribution of paperwork, tracking status and time along with progress of claims, and ensuring proper documentation is received.
  • Manages the day-to-day uniform orders, changes, and issues. Orders necessary office & janitorial supplies.
  • Enters maintenance and computer work orders on-line and manages to ensure completion.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2-3 years related to HR exp.; College degree in business or related field and/or HR certificate preferred
  • Strong clerical, organizational, communication, interpersonal skills and employee relations experience
  • Demonstrated professional demeanor and high level of customer service and confidentiality
  • Intermediate advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
  • EC (employee central), UKG, Database, and applicant tracking systems experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task a dynamic workload with a high degree of efficiency and accuracy while working independently
  • Consistent timely and proactive follow-up; Excellent attention to detail and ability to solve problems.
  • Must have ability to work with management to gather information and possess problem solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet the daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and comply with all applicable safety practices.

  • Must be able to work Sunday - Saturday, off-shifts, weekends, holidays, and required overtime to support a 24 hour/7 day operation.
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 8.5 hours.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Works in an office and plant production floor setting.  Requirements involve both sedentary and movement (e.g., walking, standing, or otherwise being mobile throughout the office and plant production floor) for extended periods of time.
  • May be required to occasionally independently move and handle objects up to 25 pounds.
  • This position will be exposed inside ambient temperatures and may include  a wet / slippery environment with loud noise in varying degrees of temperature
  • Specific vision may be required for this position, including close vision, distance vision, color and depth perception, and the ability to read computer screens for extended time periods
  • Bending, squatting, reaching, and climbing up stairs/ladders are required throughout the shift.
  • Standing and walking are required throughout the shift.
