Description: 

The Finesaver Operator performs a variety of tasks, including sampling whey solids, disassembling machinery, assisting with equipment teardowns, and working closely with upstream operators. The Finesaver Operator is responsible for executing all aspects of sanitation, including equipment CIPs, manual cleaning of parts, and foaming Fine Saver equipment. This role tracks hourly machine and sample data and enters the required information into MES.

 

Schedule:

  • Leprino Foods is a 24/7 operating facility, and the employee must be willing and able to work days or nights. Our schedules run 12 hours on a 2-2-3 rotation that allows for every other weekend off.
  • After training is complete, new hires will be assigned a regular schedule on the next available shift.
  • The current opening is DAYS – 6a-6:30p

 

Pay Rate:

  • $24.66 per hour
  • $0.75 Evening Pay Differential for every evening hour worked between 6:00pm-6:00am
  • $1.00 Weekend Pay Differential for every hour worked Saturday & Sunday

 

GENERAL OUTLINE OF DUTIES (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following outline of duties satisfactorily. This is only a sampling of responsibility as other duties will be assigned.) 

 

  • Performs pre-start up inspections 
  • Measures the amount of fines using a cone test 
  • Maintains optimal auger speed 
  • Adjusts finesaver unit to control consistency of fines 
  • Changes screens regularly to clean and sanitize 
  • Transfers screens to Clean Out of Place (COP) tank 
  • Inspects screens regularly to prevent extraneous 
  • Any other duties as assigned. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS  

Minimum 

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years old. 
  • Must be able to work Sunday - Saturday, off-shifts, weekends, holidays, and required overtime to support a 24 hour/7 day operation. 
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 8.5 hours. 

 

General Experience/Educational Background 

Minimum 

  • Demonstrated ability to complete work assignments with high degree of accuracy. 

 

Preferred 

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Experience in a dairy/food manufacturing environment. 
  • Familiarity with SAP or other manufacturing software system working with touch screens. 
  • Technical background. 
  • High school diploma or GED. 

 

Language and Technical Skills 

  • Able to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations. 
  • Able to read, write, and speak the English language. 
  • Good communication skills. 
  • Must be able to maintain accurate records. 
  • Familiar with Excel spreadsheets. 

 

Reasoning Ability 

  • Good time management skills. 
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision. 
  • Able to interpret data and make necessary decisions. 

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment  

  • This position will be exposed inside ambient temperatures and may include  a wet / slippery environment with loud noise in varying degrees of temperature.  
  • Specific vision may be required for this position, including close vision, distance vision, color and depth perception, and the ability to read computer screens for extended time periods. 
  • Must be able to lift and carry moderate weights repeatedly throughout the shift.  
  • Climbing up stairs/ladders, bending and reaching required. 
  • Able to access confined space and work on a platform off the ground.
